    East Strawberry Cake Cookies With Buttercream Frosting

    There really isn't an Amish connection to this recipe, it's just a fun, colorful cookie to share with you.  Most Amish cooks - most - don't regularly use boxed cake mixes. But they do on occasion.  I mean, the general culinary cultural tendency is for most Amish cooks to be scratch cooks, but everyone - Amish, non-Amish, etc - occasionally has to cut a corner for speed's sake or just doesn't have time for scratch cooking.  That is when box cake mixes come in handy and sometimes you can use boxed cake mix to make cookies. Yum!

    These were recently served at a friend's birthday party. Yum

    Easy Strawberry Cake Cookies With Buttercream Frrosting

    Serves: 3 dozen
    Ingredients
    • 1 box strawberry cake mix
    • 2 eggs
    • ½ cup oil
    • FROSTING:
    • 1 stick butter
    • 1 lb powdered sugar (give or take a little depending on desired consistency)
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Instructions
    1. Mix all together and drop by tablespoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet about two inches apart and bake at 350 for 6-10 minutes or until cookies start to crackle on top.
    2. FROSTING: Beat softened butter, then add vanilla and mix. add powdered sugar little by little and beat til mixed in. Decorated with candy hearts.
