We've got a lot of fun stuff in this week's blogroll after a bit of an absence, so let's jump right into everything!

AMISH GATHERING:  Tom Nye posts from Kalona, Iowa's Amish settlement some beautiful photos and thoughts about how "social" the Amish are.  That's a good way to describe it.  While the rest of society's bonds seem to be fraying (neighbors, church, etc), the bedrock of Amish existence is being part of a group with the security of knowing that they'll always have a home in the group.  Click here to see some wonderful photos illustrating the Amish tendency to gather and socialize.

SARASOTA SNOWBIRDS:  The Amish enclave of Pinecraft, Florida doesn't really get humming until after Christmas.  January, February and March is the prime Amish snowbird time in Florida, but a few early birds begin to trickle in beginning in October.  This year there was a very early bird and Katie Troyer captured his arrival. Click here to see.

AMISH ZUCCHINI BREAD:  SIGH, I should learn from experience, zucchini recipes never do all that well on Amish365, but I thought we'd check in with the My Patchwork Quilt site again....thanks again to Patricia for providing some great fill-in content while I enjoyed our new baby. Click here for a great Amish zucchini bread recipe that Patricia tested out.

Amish DInner Rolls from Ihearteating.comAMISH DINNER ROLLS:  I love any website called Ihearteating.  And I always like including a new (well, new to me) website in our weekly blogroll.  Old favorites are nice, but so are new ones.  Check out I hearteating's Amish dinner roll rendition this week. Click here.

AMISH CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:  Um...okay..this video showed up in my feed and I was intrigued...okay, this girl is going to show us how to make Amish chocolate chip cookies. So I watched.  Okay, she's talking, she'll get to the baking soon.  Nope.  This teenage girl just reads the recipe to us.  Still, give her an A for....presentation.  But a recipe video should have some actually baking or cooking in it.  Anyway, if you want to hear the recipe, click here.

MEEMAW ON THE ROAD:  Meemaw is a blogger in Kalona, Iowa (Iowa's largest Amish community) and I enjoy following her rich combination of travel, food, and occasional Amish insights. She stumbles into the most appetizing little diners on her travels. My kind of places. Check this one out here.
