Thanks for the tomaot soup recipe Lovina, it sounds great!! My garden hasn't produced much this year at all due to the drought. I hope & pray that Loretta's surgery comes out good for her.

Thanks for the Tomato Soup recipe, sounds great for when you want some soup quickly!
I'm in Southern California near the ocean and my garden hasn't produced as well as expected either. We've had very hot days, no rain of course, and very, very cool nights...cool enough that most of the plants are mildewing. I'm just grateful for whatever I do get!

i always look fwd to this article every week. It is a good surprise to see which of the talented ladies will be writing the article.
wow the surgery is just around the corner. Will there be casting involved after. Clever idea to use the treadle machine for some extra therapy. I recall using my mother's treadle and having to follow the lines that she drew on paper to earn the next step of actually having a threaded machine and fabric. HAPPY DAY. Will Loretta get to choose her fabric and use a pattern Lovina has on hand ???

Seems as if everyone had a so-so garden year. I am happy with what we have, tho'!! I am doing spaghetti sauce tomorrow. I had to laugh when Lovina mentioned getting out of butchering chickens!! That is one farm chore I can do without..but we do it anyways. I can't believe how old the Eicher kids are already!! Kids have a way of growing when we're not looking. I will be praying for the surgery as well as a speedy recovery.

The banana peppers stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon on the grill sound really good. I would love to try those sometime.

Hello, We are wondering if anyone knows of good Amish restaurants in the area of Fountain City Amish Bulk Food Store. That's in Indiana. Thanks for your help. Mary L.
