    The Mystery Elephant of Dillsboro

    By Kevin Williams

Recipes, not surprisingly, generate the most traffic on Amish365.  But occasionally, a non-recipe post surprises me and becomes a surprise hit:

Out of all the posts I've done over the years, this is the top non-recipe post:

COMMON AMISH NAMES  -    This post surprises me for its ability to rack up pageviews. Didn't know there were so many people curious about Amish names.  Dan, Emma, Jacob, Elizabeth, all very common names, read more of the lists here.

    Amish singers serenade Ohio lawmakers

AMISH SINGING TREAT  - This post went absolutely viral when it was posted.  But it got a ton of views in a short time and has now sort of settled back, whereas the common Amish names just keeps going.  Click here to view the clip of Amish children singing in the legislative chambers of the Ohio statehouse.

MYSTERY ELEPHANT OF DILLSBORO, INDIANA:  Man, never did I think this quirky post I did several years ago would rack up so many views, probably most of them from Dillsboro.  Click here to see this curious pachyderm.  By the way, read the "comments" section of the Dillsboro post and some of the mystery of this elephant begins to get explained!

GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN  - One of my memory lane posts about chains (anyone remember Burger Chef?) that once thrived but are now largely gone.  Click here.

UNITY, MAINE AMISH:  This video tour I did of the Amish community in Unity, Maine has, surprisingly, racked up a lot of views, not more than the "mystery elephant", but a lot.  Click here.
