🍳 Trending Amish Christmas Breakfasts

Classic Amish Cinnamon Rolls: These are so delicious. Here's a bit about these: The icing is key but so is the filling. Nothing worse than a dry cinnamon roll inside. And nothing beats homemade cinnamon rolls. SIGH, I have tried store-bought cinnamon rolls and they just can't compare. Yeah, those Pillsbury rolls in a can will do in a pinch, but only in a pinch. They just aren't the same as the fluffy cinnamon rolls that are true to Amish tradition.

Classic Scalloped Potatoes: It doesn't get much better than this:
Today, even though many Amish don't farm as much as they used to, potatoes are still a crucial component of the menu. Mashed potatoes are amazing, creamy, and butter-soaked. Baked potatoes, who doesn't like those? Potatoes au gratin, count me in! Scalloped potatoes are another amazing favorite and I am so thrilled that Carmon Hacker, a great friend to this site, shared her special recipe with us. Click here for the recipe.

Baked Caramel Delight: Wow, I love this dessert, here is more about it: Desserts are an important Amish cultural component. I don’t talk about them a lot from a cultural standpoint, but why are sweets and the Amish so synonymous? Dessert is part of bringing people together. Sure, maybe not everyone around the table likes the pot roast, the asparagus casserole, or the mashed potatoes, but everyone is going to – in this case – like the caramel delight, or the cookies, or the cake. Dessert is a unifier. It’s also a chance to keep the conversation flowing, keep everyone lingering longer before the spread out for their pre-bedtime chores. This is amazing.
