🍞 Trending Amish Breakfast Breads
Amish Cinnamon Raisin: Here is a bit more about this recipe: I am not a huge raisin bread fan but if you cover anything in enough icing it eventually becomes good. And this Amish Cinnamon Raisin Bread is no exception. Of course if you like raisins then this bread has a double dose of delight for you: raisins and icing. This is a loaf of delicious icing smothered raisin bread that I picked up at an Amish bakery Indiana. This Indiana Amish settlement has its roots in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, which is also where this recipe originates. Click here for this delicious recipe!
Amish Cinnamon Flop Cake: This is a perfect coffeecake coming up for Easter morning. Why is it called Flop Cake? the cinnamon sugar mixture will sink to the bottom to create a syrup like layer. When it is done you flop slices of cake upside down so the gooey cinnamon part is on top. That is where the Flop comes in! Click here for the recipe.

Beef and Noodle Company Casserole: This is a great recipe, here's a bit more about this recipe: Even Amish cooks, perhaps especially Amish Cooks, need quick recipes. Just imagine that suddenly Uncle Leroy and Aunt Katie arrive from a distant settlement with no notice and a quick supper needs to be whipped up. Well, something like this "Quick Beef and Noodle Company Casserole" would fit the bill. I got this recipe from one of my favorite Amish cookbooks, one from an Amish community in Montana. 🥘 Trending Amish Side Dishes
Amish Barbecued Green Beans: This is a delicious side dish, read more about it here: Green beans are a go-to vegetable in Amish kitchens, and they find their way in the mini side dishes. They’re easy, full of flavor and fiber and vitamins and minerals. Bring beans also pair well with protein: bacon, for instance. And ham. Of course, there is nothing like fresh green beans from the garden or farmer's market during the summer. Click here for the recipe.

Amish Coffee Squares: Wow, these are so good. I guess use decaf if you don't want a caffeine buzz! Click here.
Amish Mashed Potato Candy: This is delicious and perfect for Easter. Here's a bit more about this recipe: I have to admit I had never heard of "mashed potato candy" until I encountered it an Amish bakery in New York several years ago. I thought maybe it was called that just because it looked like mashed potatoes. So I asked the Amish baker if the candy really contained mashed potatoes and she assured me that it did. So she gave me a few pieces to take home and was nice enough to share the recipe with all of us. You really can't taste the potatoes...at least I can't, it's overpowered (or over powdered in this case) by the sugar...I think some creative Amish baker had a bunch of leftover mashed potatoes once and came up with this easy recipe.
