Amish Cornbread Salad: This is a super addition to any Thanksgiving table! Here is some more info: This is a cornbread salad and is quite popular in Amish kitchens. The recipe is pretty simple. You can make it super simple by buying cornbread, I suppose. Or you can make your own. We have some great simple recipes on this website for cornbread. You can use whatever kind of cornbread you prefer. Some people like a dry, crumbly cornbread, others like a more buttery bread. The only time I like dry crumbly cornbread is if I bathe it with butter. Click here for the recipe.

Amish Breakfast Casserole: Perfect for breakfast or, really, for supper. Here is a bit more about this recipe:
this Amish breakfast casserole is an easy dish to make. This is one of my favorite Amish recipes just because it is so traditional. The proportions and ingredient order somehow combine to create a delicious, comforting casserole. This easy stir and bake recipe comes to us from an Amish woman in the Berne, Indiana community. Amish breakfast casserole recipes are a dime a dozen in Amish settlements, they all are fairly similar. I mean, some add garlic powder or flour to the eggs, or sour cream or cream cheese to their recipes. Each family seems to have their own "secret family recipe" variations.

Butterscotch Cream Pie: This is an amazing pie to have on your Thanksgiving table. Check out the recipe here.
Homemade Apple Goody: Here is a bit more about Amish and apples:
Grace Schlabach who owns an orchard there says that apples are also used frequently to make homemade applesauce, apple pie filling, and apple dumplings. Schlabach said that many Amish cooks in the community like to halve and core apples, add some spices, put a dough around the apple, then freeze them. When they want fresh apple dumplings, all they do is thaw and bake them. The Amish of Lyndonville also freeze and can a lot of homemade cider.
Homemade apple bread is a favorite dish of Amish makers. Crisp apple salads in the autumn are popular, I could go on and on extolling the virtues of apples
Amish Chocolate Dream Pie: This is a super pie, here is a bit more information:
This is a really good pie. Aster and I whipped it up the other day and she gave it rave reviews and so did I. It's a light pie. It almost remembers me of a chocolate sugar cream pie. It has a light, fluffy flavor and texture. You probably could get away with adding more chocolate to it than we did. The recipe calls for a 1 /2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, but I think you could do 3 /4 and the pie would probably be perfect. I also just threw in a few white chocolate chips and that added a nice touch.
