This is a photo we took along State Route 96 outside of Hutchinson, Kansas. Along the route one will notice the typical yellow "horse and buggy" caution signs.  I thought to myself "I doubt any buggies use this road."  After all, State Route 96 is a busy four-lane freeway with a posted speed limit of 70 miles per hour. While passing through this area yesterday, however, Rachel and I spotted a buggy picking up speed on the entrance ramp as it attempted to merge onto the freeway.  Wow, I hope it stuck to the shoulder lane, this is not a road I'd want to be traveling on in a buggy!

Didn't know that was what the sign meant. I always thought it was showing a guard rail starting.

I'm surprised it's even legal. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be in NJ, but if they've made it the only way to get from point A to point B, maybe there's no choice.

I have to say, I don't think I have ever seen a buggy driving on the highway, but I have seen plenty cross the highway (or not get across as the case has been at a few unfortunate times!)

Being a horse owner,I can say that I wouldn't want to take them on a 4-lane! They must be really well trained!! I dislike going on big roads in a car...let alone a buggy. Guess I'm a chicken.....

THAT'S JUST SCARY.....
