Let's check in with some of our other blogger friends this week.  First stop:

Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, a delicious Amish recipe!

OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:  Wow, this is a good one....As Patricia said in her blog post, "sometimes you just want a good cookie."  And that's true, sometimes there's just no better comfort food than an amazingly delicious cookie.  Done right, there is no better dessert.  I seem no point in oatmeal raisin cookies, but oatmeal chocolate chip?  Patricia made this Amish recipe from the Hochstedler Family Cookbook.  Check out this recipe!

VEGGIE CHOPPED SALAD:  This is an AMAZING looking salad from the Dixie Kitchen blog. Dixie is a reader of Amish365's, and her blog's food offerings are simple and comforting, so it fits right in with Amish cooking. I could definitely envision this salad being popular in Amish kitchens.  Click here.

CHERYL MCNULTY:  One of our favorite Amish-themed artists has started a new painting.  Check out how "Amish Boy" painting is taking shape. I'll update you on the progress! Click here.

An Amish woman pedals through Pinecraft....

PINECRAFT:   We'll check in with Katie Troyer this week where Florida's Amish enclave is still in its peak season, although it'll be winding down soon. I LOVE her photos of the Amish men playing horseshoes, the photos just capture the simple fun that the Amish are so great at cultivating.  The photos capture the combination of the Amish not taking them too seriously while being competitive.  Click here for these super photos.

BREAKFAST SCRAPPLE PHOTOS:  This recipe comes to us from the legendary Stoltzfus Meats in Lancaster County. I wish I had stopped by when I was there recently.  Anyway, click here for this amazing recipe or just to see the photo!

Oatmeal cookies sound wonderful - but - Oatmeal cookies must have raisins, not chocolate chips.
