Weekly Blogroll: Amish Cinnamon Bread, Pickled Beets and Eggs, Auction, Covered Bridge, and Mennonite School

I think we have a good mix on our blogroll this week, so let's jump right in!

AMISH QUICK CINNAMON BREAD:   I've shared various cinnamon bread recipes over the years, but this once really looks tasty and quick and easy.  That's key when I'm looking for a recipe to share with all of you: quick and easy. Who wants to spend all day making cinnamon bread?  Not me, I want to spend all day eating it!:)  The pictures of the bread alone are worth visiting the post! Click here for the recipe and, if you are like me, you'll always add a little more cinnamon!

AMISH PICKLED BEETS AND EGGS:  This is a dish that people either seem to love or hate.  Put me in the love category.  Despite the stuff that beets can do to one's personal plumbing, the taste is well worth it.  And this blogger adds an oniony twist to the favorite and, like the cinnamon bread above, the photo alone is worth visiting.  Can you imagine this recipe used with the deep, rich egg yolks of farm-fresh Amish eggs?  Gorgeous! Click here for the delicious post and recipe!

AMISH AUCTION: I always feel a little voyeuristic peeking at a personal blog (well, if it's posted for the world to see, it's not personal)  Anyway, if you can get past some of the family photos, this blog post really does offer a wonderful glimpse at some of the implements, antiques and sundries found at a typical Amish or Mennonite auction.   This blogger visited the recent Horse-drawn Machinery Consignment Auction in Scottsville, Kentucky. She entitles the post Amish auction, but I think it is actually Mennonite.  Although I am sure plenty of Amish also attend.  Anyway, click here for a fun post!

BEAUTIFUL OHIO AMISH COUNTRY COVERED BRIDGE PHOTO: No article, just a gorgeous photo well worth a look!

Mennonite school on a gorgeous spring day!

REAL LANCASTER COUNTY - MENNONITE SCHOOL:  Thanks for Deon for sharing this photo of a nice spring day outside a Mennonite school in Lancaster County.  Check out out reallancastercounty.com for a really, really great selection of articles, photos, and information about visiting Lancaster County's Plain community.  The county is really begin to stir from its winter slumber this time of year, so it's a great time to check out the site!
