I haven't done a blogroll in awhile, so thought we'd check in with old friends of Amish365. First stop:
Deep Dish Peach Custard Pie
AMISH DEEP DISH CUSTARD PIE: Wow, this looks amazing. I love anything peach, but put it int a pie with crumbly, crusty goodness all around it and I am in pure bliss. Check out this incredible recipe here.
FEATHER-LIGHT DOUGHNUTS: Amish Indiana has a great post up with superb photos of doughnuts being made in an Amish home, along with the recipe. The recipe is similiar to one I have posted on Amish365 before, the doughnuts have a twist because they call for mashed potatoes to be mixed into the batter. You'd think that the doughnuts would be made more dense by the addition, but the doughnuts come up very light and delicious. Check out the recipe and photos here.
FARMVILLE, VIRGINIA: The Old Dominion has been slowly to attract an Amish population but with Lancaster County becoming increasing crowded, that is changing. Check out Erik's post about a visit to the Farmville, Virginia Amish settlement. Click here.
HOME JOYS: For those that follow Gina, a talented young Mennonite blogger and mom, has been working through a summer of healing after her husband's passing. Check in with her here.
KATIE TROYER: Sarasota generally slumbers in summer, but it's still interesting to check in occasionally. Summer in Florida's Amish enclave is a time for parks to be repaired, buildings to be built, things to be spruced up before the winter rush...Click here.
