Time for our weekly whirl through the blogosphere in search of anything and everything Amish, let’s check out everything here:
AMISH FUDGE-FILLED BARS: Patricia from the Patchwork Quilt blog, turned in another gem. Ah, what I love about this, besides the amazingness of the dessert itself is that it came from a small cookbook showcasing Amish recipes from the Conewango Valley of New York. This is an Amish-rich region of rural western New York, a very conservative, wonderful Amish settlement. I’ll have to try to get my hands on that cookbook sometime. Looks fascinating. Click here for the recipe.
NANCY’S RHUBARB CRUMBLE: Wow, this looks good. This recipe comes from Meemaw in Kalona, Iowa and, yeah, just feast your eyes on this!
UPDATE ON ED: I’ve been linking to Gina’s Home Joys blog for years now. She is a talented young Mennonite mom and wife and writer who shares her families stories on her blog. Her husband,Ed, has been battling an aggressive brain tumor and after trying to fend it off for years now, the tumor is growing with increasing malignancy….wow, I just hate to read about his illness but am touched by Gina’s grace in adversity and you will be too. Click here to read. Keep the whole family in your prayers.
AMISH GIRL WITH LAMB: On a cheerier note, what a wonderful watercolor by Cheryl. You know, in studying the painting, I think I like the lamb’s expression the best. Click here to see Cheryl’s latest.
MEATLOAF OR YOU CAN MAKE IT INTO MEATBALLS: From Charm City Ramblings…click here to enjoy this recipe!
