We have some fun stuff this week in blogroll, so let's get right to it!
Banana Bundt Cake...
BANANA BUNDT CAKE: Okay, a couple of things about this recipe. I know banana recipes do lousy on Amish365, people don't like bananas on my site. I get that. But this cake looks so good that I thought I'd take my chances and share. Man, look at that THICK layer of frosting. Holy cow, I'd easily polish that cake off in a day or two. Amazing. Click here for the recipe.
EASY CUSTARD PIE: This recipe comes to us from a Mennonite cookbook, “From the Farm House Kitchen” by Dawn Stoltzfus and Carol Falb , and was posted on the Charm City blog. It looks like a wonderful, easy recipe. Click here.
Most RVs are made in northern Indiana's Amish country
RV's and THE AMISH: Some of the best work online right now about Amish topics is the My Amish Indiana blog. SIGH, these are the kinds of posts I used to do more of and hope to in the future, ones that really delve into Amish culture. But. man, I worry reading this post....let me tell you, in short, what happened to the Amish of northern Indiana....The RV industry is basically centered in northern Indiana drawing upon a huge labor pool of Amish workers ready to work long, hard non-union hours in the factories in exchange for a great wage. But what happens when it all comes crashing down? That is exactly what happened in 2007's Great Recession and many Amish swore the RV industry for good. That didn't last long. The industry has come roaring back and the Amish are as dependent on it as ever. Click here to read more.
AMISH "DRIVER'S ED" - A fun set of photos from Tom chronicling some young Amish drivers on a pony cart. You really do have to be careful around young Amish drivers who often use a pony before "graduating" to a horse and buggy. Click here to see.
BLOG SPIN - AMISH PINEAPPLE CREAM CHEESE SQUARES - Check this recipe out for sure, it comes directly from an Amish bakery in Mio, Michigan. The squares look fantastic and I love that the recipe came directly from an Amish bakery. Click here for the recipe.
