We have a fun assortment of stories in today's blogroll, so let's jump right into it!
CHERYL MCNULTY: Cheryl is working on a watercolor of an Amish girl leading a calf through a field. I can't wait to see that one! She hasn't posted it yet, but she has posted some artistic photographs of some Amish clothing. Kind of fun to see how she artistically arranges the stuff. Click here to see her images.
MENNONITE TRIP: Gina is a Plain Mennonite Mom who lives in Pennsylvania and blogs about her family's life, recipes, travels, etc. I really enjoy her writing style. She wrote about a trip her family recently took and I felt like I was along with them. A lot of the places her family traveled this past week are places I've been to before (i.e. Hocking Hills, Ohio), but I had never heard of Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania. Anyway, interesting stuff and good photos! Click here.
AMISH COUNTRY CASSEROLE: Mommy's Kitchen is featuring this Amish classic this week, check out the recipe here!
BUTTERFINGER COOKIES: Mandy at the "Amish Side of Me" blog whips up Butterfinger Cookies. They sound yummy! Check out the recipe here.
NEW ORDER AMISH: This is a super article about the New Order Amish, of which Gloria Yoder is a part of. People hear "New Order" and they automatically think more progressive but it is more complicated than that and this article explains it well. As the article notes, the split has less to do with technology than theology. The piece accurately points out that in some respects the New Order are more conservative. I've seen plenty of Old Order Amish, for instance, with cell phones, while New Orders have not yet adopted them on a wide scale. Click here to read.
HUTTERITE WOMAN INDUCTED INTO AG HALL OF FAME: This was kind of a fun piece to read. Click here to read about this interesting woman!
