Weekly Blogroll: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, Bruce Stambaugh, Chocolate Cake, and More!

Time for our weekly whirl through the blogosphere in search of anything and everything Amish and we have some good ones, so let's get right to it!

    Pumpkin chocolate cookies

PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:  Man, oh man, I bet these are good.  Patricia at her Patchwork Quilt blog posted them this week, the recipe comes from an Amish cookbook and, yeah, wow is all I can say. I would have devoured a whole plate of them if I could.  Click here for the recipe.

BRUCE STAMBAUGH: Okay, this isn't Amish, but Bruce is a well-known writer and chronicler of Amish culture so I do like to check out his blog and, yeah, he's basically who I'd like to be 25 years from now.   I love this column, it's about getting out of one's comfort zone in order to do something enjoyable.  I've found myself in similar situations often and, in this case, Bruce went against the grain of his own comfort and came out better for it. Click here to read.

AMISH CHOCOLATE CAKE:  Charm City Ramblings posts a recipe from an Amish cookbook from the Dover, Delaware settlement. Would love to get my hands on that cookbook for some good regional flavor.  Check out this delicous-sounding chocolate cake recipe.

PINECRAFT HOME FOR SALE:  Often Amish-owned properties in the Amish enclave are passed down through the generations, so sales are rare.  Man, when a home does come for sale, it is snapped up quickly. I bet this one will get pounced on.
