We have a fun mix of topics on this week's blogroll, so I'll waste no time getting into it all:
CRISPY BLUEBERRY PANCAKES: Yum, sounds like an amazing recipe from talented young Mennonite blogger, Brianna Thomas...check it out here...something about a "crispy pancake" drowned in butter and fresh maple syrup is too intriguing for words! Click here.
SHEEP SCHOOL: This Bruce Stambaugh photo just sort of summarizes summer in Amish country, in my view...lazy days of sun and long grass and carefree breezes....ah, sounds good to me...click here to see the photo, be sure to enlarge it by clicking on it.
ANNA GRABER GOES NORTH: That is what one of Katie Troyer's posts is entitled this week. Katie blogs from the Amish settlement of Pinecraft and I just love her sensitive approach to her subjects, she makes you feel like you are there. Click here to see photos of Anna Graber saying goodbye (no, I don't know who Anna Graber is, it is just a fun name for a post).
MENNONITE PUMPKIN CINNAMON ROLLS: Okay, this isn't pumpkin season...I know that, and the blogger does that, but she still is sharing the recipe now because, well, you can read why and get the recipe here.
A cool, refreshing dessert on a hot day!
OREO ICE CREAM DESSERT: Okay, I don't think this is an Amish recipe, BUT, it sure sounds like one....Amish and Oreos and Ice Cream are three words that I find mix a lot, so if an Amish cook got her hands on this creation, I'm sure it'd become a fast favorite (as long as the had a freezer). This sounds - and looks - amazing on these hot summer days! Click for the recipe.
