    Weigh-in March 24

Okay, I think the week ahead is crucial in my quest to lose some weight. I figured the loss from my illness early in the month would be short-lived.  I'm still 229, out of the 230s, but I need to draw a line in the fat now and make sure I don't go any higher. If I can be a little lower this time next week then I will have re-established my health trend downward.  But I have to be careful, I've been drinking a little bit more Coke to go along with the chocolate milk and the occasional beer. It's one thing to get rid of Coke and replace it with chocolate milk and a cold lager, but to drink all three is a prescription for absolute weight disaster.   I also think I've lost my firewall, my annual warm weather firewall against weight gain, my running is just not returning to form.  Actually, my running itself is OK, it's how my knee feels afterwards....so I am not sure if I should just keep running through the problems and try to strengthen it that way...or what....one reader suggested a chiropractor...I had not thought about that, I may put that on my agenda.  So,below is the damage....I'll try to reverse this trend, thanks for sticking with me!

    JANUARY 20: 233.4
    JANUARY 27: 232.6
    FEBRUARY 3 : 233.6
    February 10: 234.00
    February 17: 232.2

    February 24: 230.4

    March 3: 230.00

    March 10: 223.7

    March 17: 225.3

    March 24: 229.00

Have you tried an exercise bike? I don't know about up there but here you can get them at yard sales or thrift stores for under 30 bucks for a cheaper model or under 50 for a nicer one. That's what I use and it doesn't seem to bother my previously injured knee unless I try to ride in my ankle weights. Don't lose heart though, we all gain some back once in a while.

Exercise bike would be okay, but I get bored too easily on them...I'd rather just do a regular outdoor biking session (but who has time for that)

Okay Kevin....so what is your "food" secret? You are doing very well and I congratulate you! Losing too quickly is not a good thing (that's what I keep telling myself!) so keep up the good work. A chiropractor may be a good thing...my daughter goes to one now and then, but be sure it is a really good one....recommended by others. They are all "good" but some are better. I am also trying to lose a few ##'s....little by little and it seems to be working, though pretty slow. Stay away from sugary soft drinks! It's like 17 spoons of sugar to a glass.
