    Welcome to "Amish, Etc"

    Published: Jun 11, 2013 · Updated: Feb 2, 2021 by Kevin Williams | 4 Comments

I'm excited to kick off a new feature on this website.  I've tried podcasting before, but this time I have a formula that will allow me to monitor its success.  Podcasts are a lot of work and I don't want to do them if only 10 people listen!:) But if it proves popular, I'll keep offering them.  The podcasts are free to listen to, so enjoy!  I am committing to producing 10 podcasts to run over the next 10 Tuesdays.  After that, I'll evaluate.  The podcasts will also be available on Itunes beginning tomorrow.

The weeks ahead will feature some fascinating, fun guests having to do with all aspects of Plain culture.  Our first guest is Pam Jarrell, founder of the Whoopie Pie Book Club, a group of Amish fiction aficionados. Pam and I had an enjoyable, interesting discussion about the Whoopie Pie Book Club and the Amish fiction craze that has taken the publishing industry by storm over the past few years. Without further ado, click here to listen to the podcast!  I'll be working out some kinks in the weeks ahead, so the podcasts are a bit of a work in progress. Happy to have Rachel joining us on some of them!:)

on the podcast. we can not hear Rachel at all. She needs her own microphone. 🙂 The speaker came in fine. Thanks for the addition!

Enjoyed the podcast with Pam Jarrell and look forward to many more podcasts. Just a suggestion: would it be possible for you to post a picture of the person you are interviewing? It would help to put a face with the voice.

Thank you, Thelma, glad you enjoyed it and that is a really good suggestion, I will strive to do that!
