….Apparently some jail time if you refuse to give an officer your name. An Amish man in Kentucky was pulled over by a police officer on Wednesday for not displaying the slow-moving vehicle emblem on the back of his buggy. But things just got worse for the Amish driver when he refused to give the police officer his name. They finally sorted things out down at the Logan County Detention Center where, it sounds like, the man remains. He finally identified himself as John Mast, age 30. Now, what to do with the horse and buggy left behind? That would seem to be real hazard. Pure conjecture on my part, but my guess is that with all the recent clashes between the Amish and the state of Kentucky over displaying the orange safety triangle (with some ending up in jail for refusing to do so), Mr. Mast probably just didn’t want to end up behind bars (ironic, because that is exactly where he ended up).
