Amish Peppermint Brownies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 eggs

Peppermint Frosting

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¾ teaspoon peppermint extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 9 by 13-inch pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla
  • Stir vigorously for about 3 minutes until the batter is well blended and creamy.
  • Pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

Peppermint Frosting

  • Mix and spread over cooled brownies
  • Topwith 4 crushed peppermint candy canes
