Amish Coffeecake Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package of yeast
  • 1 /2 cup white sugar
  • ΒΌ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 /2 cup soft shortening
  • 6 - 7 cups flour

Topping

  • 1 stick of butter, half melted and half softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Add sugar, salt, and half of flour.
  • Beat egg and add shortening.
  • Beat in rest of flour until smooth.
  • Drop by spoon into pan and let rise till double, about 30 minutes.
  • For the topping, mix the melted butter with half the cinnamon and brown sugar and spread on top of cake and bake.
  • Remove from oven after 30 minutes and spread the rest of the topping on and put back into the oven for 10 more minutes.
