Easy Amish Caramel Apple Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 4 -6 baking apples
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¾ cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions
 

  • Peel and slice apples.
  • Stir in lemon juice.
  • Combine dry ingredients and water and bring to a boil while stirring in a saucepan.
  • Add butter to the thickened mixture and stir over apples.
  • Pile into an unbaked 9 or 10-inch pie crust and cover with crumb topping or a top crust.
  • Bake at 350 for about one hour.
