Amish Bean Burgers

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • ½ cup catsup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pint cooked kidney beans drained
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Instructions
 

  • Mix ground beef, oil, onions, catsup & Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add sufficient water to prevent burning and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Then add 1 pint cooked kidney beans, drained. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Then add garlic, oregano & chili powder.
  • Continue simmering about 30 more minutes.
  • Serve on buns, using only one half of bun.
  • Top with a slice of cheese and melt in a hot oven. Serve warm.
