Amish Breakfast Casserole

  • 8 slices bread
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon dried mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound grated shredded Cheddar cheese
  • ¼ pound butter
  • 1 pound sausage fried and drained
  • eggs 6 eggs


  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  •    Put cubed bread in the bottom of a greased casserole dish or 9x13" baking dish.
  •   In a separate bowl, beat eggs and add milk, salt and dried mustard.
  • Sprinkle sausage and cheese over the bread.
  • Slice butter over the cheese, and pour the egg mixture over all
  • Bakefor 45 minutes to 1 hour, until golden brown
