Amish Caramel Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 ½ ounces vanilla instant pudding
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup butter , melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups bread flour
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Caramel Frosting

  • ¾ cup butter
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon caramel flavoring or vanilla teaspoon  caramel flavoring or vanilla
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Combine first three ingredients.
  • Mix pudding with milk and add to yeast mixture.
  • Stir in melted butter, beaten eggs and salt.
  • Add flour, mix well. Roll dough on floured surface.
  • Spread with 6 tablespoons melted butter, 1 ¼ cup brown sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
  • Roll up and slice 1 inch thick.
  • Place on a greased cake pan.
  • Let rise until double.
  • Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until done. Cool. Frost with caramel icing.

Caramel Frosting

  • Stir butter and sugar over medium heat until melted.
  • Add salt and milk and bring to a boil.
  • Cool slightly, add flavoring then add powdered sugar to desired consistency.
  • Spread over cinnamon rolls.
