Amish Best Beef Stew

Another variation, this with a sweet kick, on an Amish favorite!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 pounds cubed, boneless beef
  • 1 pound noodles
  • 1 Onion, large, chopped
  • 6 Potatoes, cut up
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash  Allspice
  • 1 dash  Cloves
  • ¼ cup Flour
  • 1 ½ tsp  Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon  Shortening
  • 1 tbsp   sugar 
  •  4 ½ cups water
  •  Carrots peeled and cut into chunks

Instructions
 

  • Melt shortening over high heat in a large pot ordutch oven.
  • Add beef cubes and brown over medium heat,stirring occasionally, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Add onions, boiling water, noodles salt, lemon juice, sugar, worcestershire sauce, pepper, paprika, allspice and cloves.
  • Cover tightly and simmer two hours
