Amish Chicken Biscuit Stew

a hearty crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup margarine or butter
  • 1 ⅓ cup flour
  •  1 /2 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 cup potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup carrots
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 ⅓ cup chicken broth
  • 2 cups cooked chicken
  • cup onions
  •  1 tube refrigerated biscuits or make your own,

Instructions
 

  •  Melt butter and add flour, salt, or pepper.
  • .Over low heat, add milk to form a white sauce, stirring until thick.In a separate saucepan, boil potatoes, carrots, and peas and drain.
  • Add to white sauce.
  • Add broth, chicken and onions.
  • Put into a greased 9-by-13-inch pan and top with the biscuits.
  • Bake at 375 for 20 to 25 minutes.
