Amish Baked and Barbecued Burgers
a delicious twist on an old summer stand-by. Also great with a slice of cheese!

- 3 pounds hamburger·
- 1½ cups cracker crumbs
- 1½ cup quick oats
- 2 eggs·
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 13 ounces whole milk·
- 1 cup onion chopped fine
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
Sauce
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 · cups brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ cup chopped onions
Mix together burger ingredients and then shape intopatties. These can be staggered and layer in a pan. Mix together sauce ingredients and pour on top. Bake 2 hours at 300 cover with foil. Serve on a bun.
