    Ye Olde Amish Inn

Wow, Ronks, Pennsylvania is the epicenter of Amish-themed tourism.  It had been years since I had been to Ronks and it has changed.  Big box stores, outlet malls, and upscale hotels give this area around the Dutch Wonderland theme park an almost Pigeon Forge feel.  Heck, I even saw one sign advertising "helicopter rides", I guess so you can see the idylliuc Amish farmland from up high.

I have nothing against Golden Corral but, really, who in their right mind would eat at Golden Corral when there is a heaping Pennsylvania Dutch buffet on every corner?  But, sure enough, there was a Golden Corral.

I was only going to be in the area one night and I was just looking for budget accomodations and Ye Olde Amish Inn, for $49 a night, delivered that in spades. So if you want an inexpensive, no-frills bed and shower while you are in Amish country than look no further than Ye Olde Amish Inn.  Here are some of my photos:

    Ye bathroom....

    Ye bed

The microwave and fridge are a nice touch

Wow, hadn't seen one of these in forever, an actual hotel room key, not a card...

The hotel is right off main drag, US 30, close to Good n Plenty restaurant. Amish buggies can be seeen from your window...

Park at your door and walk on in, my favorite kind of place!
