It's YouTube Friday when we explore some of the more interesting video snippets found online relating to the Plain people. Here's this week's roster!
SEMI VIEW: Check out the view from a semi-truck cab as it rolls along US 20 in northern Indiana. A trucker did a 1-minute video diary showing how buggies and trucks share the road. Sheesh, I sure hope he was paying as much attention to his driving as he was to his mini-documentary!
DIRECT TV: Talk about a culture clash, the latest satellite technology meets with the Amish and in this case I think the Amish won. Watch this Amish man pull a stuck DirectTV van out of a snowy driveway.
ABANDONED MENNONITE HOUSE: This is a both fascinating and bizarre video. I'm like "why is this woman poking through a long-abandoned house?" But if you look up her YouTube profile apparently she pokes through all sorts of abandoned structures. Rather fascinating in a weird way. There was once a vibrant, active life in this house, now it sits gloomy and empty, but clues can still be gleaned about its former occupants.
MAHLON TALKS TURKEY: Our own Mahlon Miller gives a tour of his turkey farm in 2011.
