Amish Sugar Cream Pie

A classic confection made with the most basic Indiana ingredients!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 /4 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 /2 cup butter
  • 2 ¼ cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Bake pie crust at 400 until golden and done.
  • Cook together sugar, milk, and cornstarch over medium heat. Constantly stir using a whisk or wooden spoon.
  • When thickened, add butter and vanilla. 
  • Pour into a baked pie shell
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Chill until set, usually overnight.
