Amish Chocolate Oatmeal Crispy Cookies
This is such a classic cookie, a cross between chocolate chip and oatmeal

- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 cups lard
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda (dissolved in a little water)
- 3 cups flour
- 6 cups oatmeal
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Cream together sugars and lard.
Add eggs after salt and vanilla have been added.
Stir well Sift flour and soda. Mix well.
Add the rest.
Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet spaced 2 inches apart
Bake 8 - 10 minutes in 375 oven.
