Amish Caramel Apple Dumplings
A delicious apple treat any time of year!

Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 ½ cups water
Dumplings
- 1 ¼ cups flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- ½ cup apples, peeled and chopped
In a skillet, heat sauce ingredients to a boil.
Reduce heat to a simmer.
Meanwhile, mix together dumplings.
Drop by tablespoons into sauce.
Cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes, do not lift lid.
Serve warm with ice cream or milk.
