Amish Toffee Bars

Ingredients
  

Crust

  • ½ cup margarine
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour

Topping

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup almonds

Instructions
 

  • sPreheat oven to 350.

Crust

  • in a small mixing bowl, stir margarine, brown sugar and flour until the ingredients are evenly mixed.Press and flatten with hand to cover ungreased 9 X 13 inch pan.Bake for 10- 12 minutes.

Topping

  • While the crust is baking, prepare the topping
  • .In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs and then stir in brown sugar, vanilla, flour, baking powder, salt, coconut and almonds.
  • Remove crust from oven and spread topping evenly over crust. Return to oven and bake 25 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
