Time for one of our occasional romps through Etsy, that fun, eclectic marketplace which resembles a cross between a flea market and a vintage store. This is where you can find the really fun Amish-themed stuff. I can't vouch for any of these sellers (except for the pie place), but these all look interesting. I don't get a cent from posting their products, I just pick ones that I think look interesting.
KING'S HOMEMADE AMISH JAM: King is a very common Amish name in Pennsylvania and nothing beats a small-batch jar of homemade seasonal jam or jelly. Looks like that is what you have here. Click here to take a look see.
AMISH CINNAMON BREAD: This looks amazing, check it out here.
Amish-made wooden skid-loader
HAND-MADE AMISH SKID LOADER: Well, I am not making gender generalizations now, because my girls do play with toy trucks. Actually, when I think about it, as an interesting side note, we have all sorts of toys available for our girls: toy trucks, science stuff, dolls, etc, but they just seem - on their own - to gravitate towards dolls. Because I was going to start off this post by saying "Wow, if I had a little boy I'd get them this..." but then I realized some people might find that comment gender offensive...but I guess really what I meant is in my household, with my girls, this toy probably wouldn't go over that well. The girls would probably think it's neat and look at it, but then go back to their dolls. Anyway, click here...some amazing craftsmanship!
FAVORITE RECIPES OF THE WISCONSIN AMISH: This is the type of Amish cookbook that I always find the most fascinating. This is an Amish cookbook showcasing Amish recipes just from Wisconsin. It is in these types of books that you get your pass-down-through the years old family favorites, recipes that showcase local variations and traditions. So snap this one up if you have an interest in the Wisconsin Amish!
Rhubarb-custard pie
Double crust!
HOMEMADE DOUBLE-CRUST RHUBARB-CUSTARD PIE: I can vouch for this place. This pie comes from a small Mennonite bakery in New York State. I've tried her baked goods before and they are wonderful. While this pie might seem pricey - and it is - you are getting an authentic cultural experience with this....click here to order!

I wanted a recipe for the rhubarb pie. Didn’t want to order one.
