If you are looking for a way to liven up a roast, you can try this delicious Amish recipe.
It comes to us a Canadian Amish family. As I often write, most Amish families would use their own home-butchered beef for a dish like this. You can’t beat that. As you’d expect the brown sugar adds a fun flavor to this dish. Give it a try!
I am sure you can, by the way, experiment with the sugar amounts. I’d probably add more brown sugar, but that’s a preference of taste.
MATTIE’S BROWN SUGAR BEEF ROAST
3 pound beef roast
2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons water
Mix the salt, pepper, and brown sugar and run into all sides of the meat. Put into a roaster and add water. Roast at 325 for about 1 hour or until done.
