The Aylmer, Ontario Amish settlement is a really, really neat one. Â There's not much "touristy" to do there, so I'm not sure I'd plan a special trip just to go to Aylmer. Â But if you were passing through the area anyway or wanted to sort of throw it in as a larger visit to surrounding area of Ontario then by all means go. Â I made the mistake of visiting Aylmer during the belly of one of their worst winter's in a decade. Â We visited there almost a year ago to the day. It's a charming community, but I'd love a chance to return in the spring or summer sometime. Â You can visit Aylmer without leaving your chair, click here to join me on a quick tour of the Aylmer community.

Loved the tour of Aylmer, Ontario. I live about 30 minutes from there and it is a lovely town. We have a fairly large group of old order Amish and Mennonites around my town of St Marys, Ontario. Every time I go into town I see several men or families shopping. We have a good size population of Mennonites as well. There are many Mennonite churches near by as well as Beachy Amish.

Thanks for stopping by here, Nancy...I loved my visit to Aylmer...I always enjoy London, Ont. also. Next time I am up that way - which I hope is soon - I'll check out St. Marys!

Kevin, you mentioned the other day about an Amish show that will be on TBS Tuesday. I can't locateyour mention of it in this column, would like to know the title of it and the time.
Thank you in advance!
