AMISH SKIING:  This is an interesting article about Amish hitting the slopes in the settlement of St. Ignatius, Montana.  I knew that this was a very "outdoorsy" settlement, but was not aware of their interest in skiing. Interesting. Click here to read more.

22 Amish church districts mean that there is plenty of business to go around for the many harness shops here in the Arthur community where Millie Otto lives

MILLIE'S CHEESY HAM BREAKFAST CASSEROLE:  Check in with Illinois Amish writer Millie Otto who serves up a superb recipe and tells about the goings ons in her life over the past week.  Click here.

BREAST CANCER SCREENING AMONG THE AMISH SAVING LIVES:  A mobile breast-cancer screening vehicle makes the rounds in Ohio's Amish country and it is making a difference in preventing this awful disease. Click here to read more.

AMISH ACRES CLOSES FOR GOOD:  SIGH, sad to see it happen, but Amish Acres, a mainstay of northern Indiana tourism, closed after a New Year's Eve celebration.  I am still hopeful that someone will buy it at auction and reopen it.  Click here to read about their last night.

PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH PORK AND SAUKERAUT:  I know, I know, this is a New Year's Day dish, but it really could be tasty any cold winter day...click here for a few traditional recipes for this meal that is supposd to bring you luck.
