📋 Step-by-Step Texas Sheet Cake
This recipe has very basic ingredients so this is something you can whip up fast.

The recipe calls for margarine, but I used butter. I pretty much use butter for anything that calls for margerine.

This is the flour and sugar mixture.

Here are the eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla mixed in. Add the boiling stuff last.

This the batter poured into a 12 X 18 half a sheet cake pan.

Good and golden after it comes out of the oven. That is when it is time to make the frosting.

The frosting is very rich, powdered sugar-filled. If I did it again, I might dial back just a bit on the powdered sugar.

For the best result, put the frosting on the cake after it has cooled.

White Texas Sheet Cake
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups flour
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Fluffy White Icing
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ⅔ cup Crisco
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ⅓ cup boiling water
- 2 drops butter flavorig
Instructions
- Prheat oven to 350
- Bring margarine and water to a boil, add to dry ingredients.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla.
- Beat well.
- Pour batter into half sheet cake pan.
- Bake at 350* for 25 minutes or until done.
