Anyone visiting Berlin, Ohio has certain places they stop. You have to go to Boyd & Wurthman's to get some pie, the Coblentz Chocolate Company for candy and, well, Country Gatherings, or Sheiyah's Market for plants and home decor.
📖 The Meaning of Sheiyah
I was caught off guard by County Gatherings being rebranded as "Sheiyah Market." The name just sounded vaguely unsettling (for no good reason) and jarring, a lot different than "Country Gatherings." But Sheiyah is simply the Pennsylvania Dutch word for "Barn." Maybe "Barn Market" sounds a bit generic compared to "Sheiyah Market."

Sheiyah Market is the umbrella name for several businesses that operate there, including Country Gatherings.
🛒 What Stores Are At The Sheiyah Market?
This has grown and morphed into like an "Amish Country Mall." It started out over 20 years ago as like a village gift barn but has now grown into a whole campus of shops. The stores are not Amish-run, but the stores have deep roots in the area and Amish influences.
Country Gatherings: Holy moly, this place is huge! And it keeps getting bigger. At first I was a little hesitant to stop because I tend to like the smaller stores, especially the Amish-run home-based businesses. But Berlin offers such a great mix of businesses and this store, which I learned is called Country Gatherings. It looked so massive that it just beckoned. My daughters had a blast exploring and they especially loved the "fairy gardens."

Country Gatherings has about any yard decor imaginable, plus primitive indoor furnishings.

Other stores include:
The Village Gift Barn: In 2000 this is where it all started, a dairy barn that was converted into a multi-level 20,000 plus square feet of ultimate retail space. This store offers everything you need to dress up your home.
Sheiyah Style Boutique: I mean even Amish country likes to see some fashion trends, so this is the place to go.
The Garden: A place to get plants, etc.
The Buggy Brew Company: This is where I would be hanging out, getting a latte or coffee. This is a new addition, wasn't here when I visited!
🌠 Reviews of Sheiyah Market
From TripAdvisor: Went with my older parents and my Dad enjoyed the rocking chairs in the shade talking to other visitors. This place is newer and huge! Three different places make up the market and they have beautiful things in each building. Home goods, gardening supplies, women’s boutique, etc. Definitely worth a stop. I’ll be back. - Kelly, Cincinnati
Interesting items. They do have some unique things, but can be expensive. It's interesting to browse and see the new items. - Lei, Upper Sandusky, Ohio
The shoppe is nice. There are a zillion different candles. Three floors of items to buy. We found an art piece we liked. Restrooms small for such a big store. IMO prices were high. Baybug, Macon, Georgia
