A pony grazes in this Amish community
A hat hanging in an Amish home in the smallest Amish settlement...
By Kevin Williams
We have talked on this site a lot about the largest Amish communities....there is some debate about the definition of "an Amish community" or an "Amish church."  But in visiting this Amish community this week I don't think you could get much smaller and qualify as an Amish community, so this particular place is my pick for the smallest  horse and buggy Amish settlements and others can debate whether I am right or wrong.
Here are a couple of photos from my journey, but I'll have much more in the days ahead. In fact, my first Amish365 Longform piece, which I hope to have up on Monday, will be all about this smallest Amish community and include a lot of photos, recipes, and stories. So stay tuned!
So, can you guess where this is?

Kevin,
I think that the first photo is miniature donkey, not a pony.
Kevin
You are correct, sorry for the error!
Steve
Are you sure that's not a donkey in the picture above? 🙂
Kevin
Yes, it is a donkey...sorry for the error, but good eye!

I'm guessing in Maine. The thing that gets my attention, though, is that CARPET on the stairs in that second picture? Amish and carpets? The questions on how to clean that without electricity and a vacuum are running through my mind! 😀
