Two of the British teens from "Living with the Amish"
By Kevin Williams
This was a great episode. SIGH, to be young and just sort of be able to tax your body to the limit doing something like baling hay, to me, sounds awesome. Heck, I'd love that now. But to have the opportunity at age 16, 17, or 18 when you're still impressionable and growing and learning, yea, what a life lesson these kids are getting.
Curiously, in this week's episode they are staying with a sect of Plain people that I've never heard of formally. They are staying with "Born Again Amish." The Old Order Amish are traditionally not an evangelical group. The New Order Amish are definitely have a more evangelical bent as do some of the Amish in places like Manton, Michigan and Unity, Maine. There also breakaway groups like the "Lobelville Amish" who hew to Amish ways and traditions but they have embraced a much more evangelical direction.
