More Scenes from the German Baptist Brethren Meeting

    Published: May 24, 2018 · Updated: May 24, 2018 by Kevin Williams | Leave a Comment

The annual gathering of the German Baptist Brethren, Old Conference is part doctrinal conference, part family reunion, part picnic.   Here are some more scenes from the gathering held this year outside of Greenville, Ohio.  Next year's will be at a German Baptist farm in Virginia.

German Baptist ministers - some 300 attend the conference - wait in line outside a farmhouse for their "assignments" for the year.

Any place makes a convenient hat peg when you have thousands of people attending a gathering....this hat found refuge on a tent stake

I never asked how many port-o-potties they rented for the meeting, but it had to be north of 70....this is a really nice touch because no one wants to wait in line for this and the toilets were very clean because they were so many

When you gather 3000 people for services, items are bound to be left behind. They end up here at the lost and found.

Setting 40 tables that seat 24 people? This is what you need.

Simple, no-frills table service...although all the dishes do still need to be washed after each meal, 1000 plates....I wonder if they'd ever consider paper plates?

Beatrice steps out into the rain....
