    Sunday Baked Oatmeal

    Oatmeal is a favorite breakfast among the Amish anytime of year. But cold winter mornings seem to make  a bowl of steaming oatmeal that much more appealing.  But there's oatmeal and there's amazing oatmeal and this fits into the latter category.

    Recipe-tester Barbara tested this baked oatmeal recipe for us.  The recipes to us from an Amish woman in Ohio.

    Of the recipe Barbara says: "Well, Mr liked that also.  Said he loved the taste of the oats, not too sweet.  Very pleased with this recipe.  The brown sugar brings out the taste of the oats.  Very filling.  He had ½ and ½ on his.

    Amazingly flavorful baked oatmeal

    AMANDA YODER'S BAKED OATMEAL

    2 cup butter, melted
    2 eggs
    2 cup brown sugar
    3 cups quick oats
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 cup milk
    Cream together butter, eggs, and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and pour into 9 X 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 deg. for 20 to 30 min. Serve with milk and fresh or frozen fruit.

      I made this to picture, not recipe. 2 cups of melted butter? That is an entire pound. Other than that it is a great recipe. I love baked oatmeal!
