Amish Fried Pies: These are legendary. Here is a bit more about them: This is the recipe that's most commonly used for church bake sales benefitting families in need. Even some Amish garage sales will have fry pies on hand, with a sign saying that a donation in exchange for a fry pie would be appreciated. The pies can be made in almost any assortment of fruit flavor. I recently bought "pecan fried pies" at a Mennonite bakery. So, that actually opens up a world of possibilities with the fried pie (or fry pie, they are referred to either way). So, yes, you can follow the recipe below, but instead of adding pie filling you could really add whatever filling you desire. Hmmmm, I am thinking of like a Nutella-filled fried pie.
