    5 Amish Super Bowl Recipes

    If you are thinking to yourself "gee, I didn't think the Amish would be watch or celebrating the Super Bowl," you are correct.  The vast majority of Amish will let Super Bowl Sunday pass without so much as a passing thought of pigskin.  The game's rough and tumble character makes it a tough fit for Amish culture. Baseball is much more loved among the Amish.  That said, that doesn't mean you can't find some good dips and munchies in Amish kitchens that would be perfect at a Super Bowl party.

    Here are several favorite dishes to try as you root on the Eagles and Patriots!

    Beanless Bean Dip is a great Super Bowl snack!

    BEANLESS BEAN DIP:  Check out the Amish Cook's recipe for delicious party food!

    AMISH PARTY MIX

    1 box Cheerios

    1 box Corn Bran

    1 box Honeycomb cereal

    1 box Corn Chex

    1 box Trix

    1 package pretzel sticks

    1 package of Bugles

    1 can potato sticks

    Mix cereal and snacks in a large bowl.

    Set aside.

    Blend together.:

    4 cups salad oil

    2 tablespoons onion salt

    2 tablespoons garlic salt

    2 tablespoons seasoning salt

    1 tablespoon paprika

    Instructions
    1. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well.
    2. Place on cookie sheets and bake for 2 hours at 200 degrees.
    3. Stir every 30 minutes to prevent scorching.
    4. When cool stir in some M&Ms.

    EASY AMISH ONION DIP

    ½ cup of mayonnaise

    ½ cup of sour cream

    2 tablespoons milk

    3 tablespoons of onion,grated

    pinch of salt to taste

     Mix all of the above ingredients well and chill. Serve with crackers.
    AMISH PARTY PUNCH
    Ditch the Coke and try this!

    1 46-oz. can pineapple juice,

    chilled

    3 c. cranberry juice, chilled

    1 qt. ginger ale, chilled

    1 lemon, thinly sliced

    Combine all liquids in a large punch bowl. Float lemon slices on top.

    SALOMA BYLER'S TEXAS CHILI

    Nothing like a pot of chili to warm your Super Bowl Sunday!

    • 2 pounds ground beef
    • 1 large onion, chopped
    • 1 package taco seasoning
    • 1 package dry ranch dressing mix
    • 3 cups water
    • 1 large can srewed tomatoes
    • 1 can pinto beans
    • 1 can pork n beans
    • 1 can black beans
    • 1 can dark red kidney beans
    • 3 cans, creamed corn
    Instructions
    1. Brown and sauté hamburger and onion.
    2. Add taco seasoning and dressing mix.
    3. Then add water.
    4. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 2 – 3 hours.
