Pound cake is a confection that is popular in Amish kitchens because it is very easy and tasty. Â It's also a versatile cake. It can be eaten for breakfast with a cup of coffee or enjoyed for dessert with strawberries and a scoop of ice cream. Â So pound cake is valued for its versatility and ease to make. Doesn't this homemade version from one of our readers look wonderful? Â I'd much rather eat a homemade one than store-bought, although will admit that my Dad used to buy the Sara Lee kind and that kind was tasty. He'd keep it in the refrigerator so when you'd slice off a piece it'd be cold. Yum. Â I like cold cake!:)
