I hope everyone had a wonderful, happy Easter full of faith, family, and food. That's what mine was and I loved every second. The sun shone brightly down on southwest Ohio providing us with a gorgeous afternoon to be outside. This was Aster's first to actively participate in an Easter egg hunt and for only being 18 months old I think she caught on quite well and held her own against her older cousins.
I thought it was a fun day and Aster agreed, declaring it a "very fun day" by the time it was over. I'll share a few photos of Aster's Easter below. Shots of when she was on the prowl for eggs and trying her hand at blowing some soap bubbles.
You know, for those on my email list, I think this is the crux of my "mid-life career crisis." She's such a sweet, intelligent little girl and I just want to give her the best start in life possible (as any parent does), but it's tough to square that goal when I can't get my own career where I want it to be, my weight, etc. There's an old expression that says if "you want to lead, you must first lead yourself" and I haven't done that well so far. Here are some photos, though, of Aster's Easter.

Kevin, I really enjoy your blog. I'm from Pennsylvania and the Amish were in the periphery of my growing up. So much has changed in the Amish community from when I grew up. I am intrigued by how they are adapting as the world becomes more and more techno-savvy. I respect them so much. (I'm not so sure how I feel about Rumspringa however.) As an aside, please allow me to offer you just a bit of loving advice. PLEASE stop putting yourself down! Maybe you ARE having a midlife crisis! But count your blessings, of which you have many and guess what? Your weight is fine! As long as you are physiologically healthy, you look great! (I can say this with great understanding, as once, many, many years ago, I lost 100#....I understand the low self-esteem, the constant 'picking' on your self, the thoughts of "If only I could be 15# lighter, then I'll be happy...." YOU are great! Your family is great! Your blog and the information that you share is great! Eventually you'll find the career that makes you happy. But as long as you are negative and have low self-esteem, that's going to be difficult to find. So....with all of that said, carry on, Kevin! And be happy!!!!!
Kevin
Thank you for the kind words, Kathleen, means a lot, it does..and I'm going to try to "re-center" myself with my thoughts!

Your daughter Aster is so cute. Kevin you are so good at writing. If you ever stop writing would be so disappointed. Love the articles. I feel like I know Gloria and Roseanna.

Hi Kevin, I, like the previous posters, love seeing pics of Aster! She certainly growing up fast(as most kiddos do). It's great to be able to keep up on her progress.
I agree with the previous comment also. Being so hard+down on yourself only brings on unnecessary anxiety, and that never really helps anyone. One day at a time; God's grace is sufficient. Blessings to you and your family! BTW- so glad your Grandma is doing so much better! Thank You, Lord! and Amen! Carol

How precious she is. Stop worring about so many things and enjoy your family and you job. If you like your job and you are making a living at it be happy. Be thankful for what God has given you.
