Got some Amish in the news today, so let's check it out:
Every Amish wedding has its own unique customs, but one thing you'll at almost all of them: a lot of buggies. This is an Amish wedding gathering I once stumbled upon in Indiana. Â
AMISH WEDDINGS: First of all, you are going to find a whole range of variations in Amish settlements....some Amish communities, I suspect, are continuing on with customs and traditions as usual. Others are adhering to government guidelines on gatherings. This is an interesting article about how some Amish settlements in northern Indiana are handling weddings.  I've been pleased to see so many Amish taking the health warnings seriously and acting accordingly. Click here to read more.
ERVIN MILLER:  Occasionally, I like to feature Amish obituaries here. It helps us celebrate the life of someone and learn a bit about Amish culture. This Amish man lived to be the ripe old age of 95 and, holy moly, he lived long enough to have over 200 great grandchildren! Incredible. Read the obituary here.Â
I am sure many of his family wanted to partake in saying goodbye, but most Amish funerals are adhering to social distancing guidelines, so it was probably a quieter funeral than usual.
WEST TEXAS MENNONITES: This is the first of a three-part series about the Mennonites of West Texas that is being published in the Lubbock paper. Should be an interesting read. Click here to read installment number one.
AMISH GOLDEN PENNY CARROTS: Mmmm, I have had these before and they taste like candy. Really good stuff. Click here for the recipe.
AMISH HAYSTACKS:Â Well, we have talked about Amish haystacks a LOT on Amish365, BUT, this recipe was made by Amish Country chef Lee Ann Miller on Cleveland TV, so you can actually see it and get a great recipe, so check it out here.
