    This recipes comes to us from the "electric Amish" community near Partridge, Kansas.  These horse-and-buggy Amish do have limited electricity in their homes, which allows them to power items like blenders and stoves.  I guess I should be leery of this recipe because it does contain raw eggs.

    Just in time for the holidays from The Amish Recipe Project book is a recipe for homemade egg nog. Yum.

    Serves: 5 servings
    Ingredients
    • 5 cups milk
    • 5 eggs
    • 1 /2 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoons vanilla
    • 1 /8 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1 /8 teaspoon salt
    • Handful of ice cubes
    Instructions
    1. Combine everything in blender until ice is shredded. Refrigerate until chilled.Serve cold.
